Sometimes the most important and urgent thing we can do is get away to a peaceful and anointed spot. This is one of the most powerful concepts that I personally have incorporated in my life. I'm sitting right now writing this book in a cabin up on a hill overlooking a beautiful lake, miles away from the nearest city. As we choose to draw away for a time, we can see and hear much more clearly about how to go ahead. Jesus did this many times during His earthly life, especially just before and after major decisions. The Bible says, ...in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. (Is. 30:15) There's something invigorating and renewing about retreating to a quiet place of rest and peace. Silence is an environment in which great ideas are birthed. It is important to associate intently and as often as possible with your loftiest dreams. In Isaiah 40:31 we read, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." I believe that every person should have a place of refuge, one out of the normal scope of living, one where he can "retreat to advance" and "focus in." Make a regular appointment with yourself; it will be one of the most important you can ever have during the course of a week or a month.
