Floyd Landis May Never Regain Public Trust

Author: Lance Winslow

It is widely known in politics that it is far better to character assassinate your opponent than it is to kill him. It is unfortunate that we live in a world that arrived on character assassinations. It is even worse that we allow a country like France, which is considered by some to be stuck in a loop of socialist communist views to attack the superstars of American sports. When the French authorities that run the Tour de France attacked Lance Armstrong and claimed he was doping, Lance Armstrong fought the charges and won.

But this was at a time when Lance Armstrong's credibility, popularity and strength was at an all-time high. Lance Armstrong was good with the media and had done much in his foundation and he and his lawyers were able to challenge the French authorities of the Tour de France and shut down the rumors, accusations and false charges.

Floyd Landis on the other hand has a rather scruffy look and does not promote the clean-cut image that Lance Armstrong did. Also Floyd Landis has only won one Tour de France whereas Lance Armstrong had won seven. It's doubtful that Floyd Landis will never regain the public trust and it is unfortunate that the Tour de France authorities have used this opportunity to character assassinate yet another of American cyclist.

How can anyone trust the Tour de France ever again? We should move the Tour de France to the United States of America because obviously the course is to easy for American cyclist and we have a much bigger country and will not have to ride around in circles. Please consider this in 2006.

Lance Winslow

Currently Lance is retired at age 40 and is running an Online Think Tank Forum while traveling North America. Perhaps considering something extremely challenging to do that will exercise his mind and utilize all his experiences, observations and skills. Any ideas?
