Washington DC Police Chief Declares Crime Emergency

Author: Lance Winslow

For the fourth time now in eight years the Police Chief of Washington DC, Charles Ramsey has declared a state of Crime Emergency in the Capital City. So what is the problem you ask? Is the Mayor back on Crack Cocaine?

Are there more Congressmen assaulting officers or Druggie Congressmen crashing their cars into barriers? No, this time it is even more serious than any of those headline news stories. You see 14 people have been murdered in one month. This record number is down from the 96 people murdered in one month previously. But one has to ask why is all this occurring?

Currently we also have problems here in Arizona as well where 4 people have been killed and 40 people shot at night by secret attackers. In Phoenix where this is occurring the population base is 3.5 million and even though this is a tragic problem. The real problem is that crime is on the rise.

Now in the case of Washington DC our nations capital the population is quite small actually and for this many murders there is a real problem. Why is our Nations capital full of lawlessness? Is it that the worst of humanity lives there? Is it because those who work there are above the law?

Can the Washington DC Police Chief make a difference the rid the city of crime or will there always be crime in Washington DC, as we have come to expect? Consider all this in 2006.
