MLM and Bogus Sales Pitches

Author: Lance Winslow

For those who have chosen a profession or a side personal business of their own in the field of Multi-Level Marketing (MLM), you should be careful not to going around misrepresenting fact. It is easy to quote figures and facts that you think maybe correct but are not. Whether you realize that you are doing this or not you should know that material misrepresentation is a crime. They call it fraud, perhaps you have heard of it?

Unfortunately the MLM companies often train these people to "Sell" a certain way and they end up unfortunately misrepresenting themselves as they jumble up all the details, in their haste to do their sales pitch. The Corp will say we cannot monitor all the sales calls, and the salesmen will say; well that is what they told me to say? See the problems? No controls.

The fact is neither care too much about anything but the sale. Bummer. For the consumer and all the legitimate Financial Planners, accountants, other business opportunities or the confidence in our country itself and the future. You see the bigger picture and problem here?

Do you have friends who are into MLM businesses? Did you know that if your friend dies in fact misrepresent facts, well then actually this is against the law, but what are you going to do? Arrest him for fraud? He probably means well, I think there is a bigger problem at the methodology.

You see, if a financial planner did that, they would be arrested or lose their license and Sued by the SEC. If they did it in a seminar and were caught on tape; they could never work in the industry again. We have a problem with the laws, regulations and systems to protect the consumer in this country. Think on this in 2006.
